OUR STORY

The students of the Saint Peter’s University Health and Fitness Club have been working tirelessly for the last five years to provide activity-based programming that improves the health and well-being of Jersey City's young people and their families. We have been able to provide the community with free after-school sport and play programs, active-organized recess sessions, family health and fitness nights, sport and play sessions in a foster home for boys and many other free health and fitness-related programs.

OUR PROJECT

The Jersey City Community Health and Fitness Fund directly supports these activity-based initiatives. We have distributed more than 1,000 activity-based gifts such as soccer balls, hula hoops and basketballs through the generous support of people like you. We have even held raffles for a free bike and helmets at each event! Your gift will go directly to providing the young people of Jersey City the tools they need to develop healthy habits.

WHY GIVE?

Please help us to continue this work through your generous gift as we strive to improve the health of Jersey City’s youth. Your gift of any amount will ensure that Saint Peter's students can continue to offer and even expand this valuable work as we grow and learn through this unique service opportunity.

$25

Bike helmet

We give away several bikes with helmets at each event; one bike helmet can be purchased for $25.

$100

Half the cost of a bike

We will buy several bikes to distribute at each event; a gift at this level covers half the cost of a bike.

$500

Healthy snacks for families

We distribute fruit and other healthy snacks to each family that attends an event; five hundred dollars covers the cost for all of the snacks at one event.

$2,000

Mindful Eating Program

We distribute crock pots and cookbooks to parents who attend our mindful eating program through which we teach about nutritional, affordable, time-efficient meals; two thousand dollars covers the cost of this program.
